“Best of” selection from the 2010 Summer Love tour by Garrison Keillor and the cast of A Prairie Home Companion.

“A refreshing program that will remind you that life is always meaningful.” —SMU Daily Campus

“The first devoted fans showed up five hours early to get good seats.” —Arizona Daily Sun

“First loves, misguided loves, window-steaming loves, small town romances.” —Grand Rapids Press

“The evening was in all ways wonderful.” —Salt Lake Tribune

In the summer of 2010, Garrison Keillor, Nickel Creek’s Sara Watkins, the Guy’s All-Star Shoe Band, and sound-effects artist Fred Newman went on a whirlwind tour of 25 cities in less than two months. The theme was everlasting love; the shows were jam-packed with tender duets and ballads, poetry, and stories of passion and marriage, all done Prairie Home Companion-style.

Now the best performances from that tour are available on this Summer Love collection. Never broadcast and therefore available for the first time on this collection, selections include favorite Prairie Home Companion elements: Guy Noir, “show sponsor” commercials, and the News from Lake Wobegon.

About Garrison Keillor: Garrison Keillor is Americas favorite storyteller. For the more than 35 years, as the host of A Prairie Home Companion, he has captivated millions of public radio listeners with his weekly News from Lake Wobegon monologues. A Prairie Home Companion now reaches over four million listeners on more than 558 public radio stations, America One, the Armed Forces Networks, Sirius Satellite Radio, and via a live audio webcast.

Keillor is also the author of several books and a frequent contributor to national publications including Time, The New Yorker, and National Geographic, in addition to writing his own syndicated column. He has been awarded a National Humanities Medal from the National Endowment of the Humanities. When not touring, he resides in St. Paul, Minnesota.
