 UPDATE January 26, 2006 - On the Oprah Winfrey show today, Oprah confronted James Frey about the fact or fiction in his book A Million Little Pieces asking "Why would you lie? Why do you have to lie about the time you spent in jail? Why did you do that?" Frey admitted that he lied in his book about some of his experiences. Oprah appeared to be deeply regretful of her support of the book and its author. Winfrey said to her audience and the world "I left the impression [when I called in to the Larry King Live show January 11] that the truth does not matter, and I am deeply sorry about that. But that is not what I believe. And to everyone who has challenged me on this issue of truth, you are absolutely right."January 11, 2006 - Controversy now challenges whether this audiobook is nonfiction, as described by its author (James Frey) or fiction.
