About the Author: Lewis Black is a hugely popular New York Times–bestselling author, stand-up comedian, playwright, and actor. Besides appearing on The Daily Show since its inception, Black has written and starred in a string of successful HBO specials and one-man Broadway shows. In 2001 he won the American Comedy Award for Funniest Male Stand-Up Comic, and in 2006 he won a Grammy for Best Comedy Album. His most recent HBO special, Red, White and Screwed, was nominated for an Emmy. Born near Washington, D.C., Black graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and has a master's degree from the Yale School of Drama.
