From the author of perennial favourite Bunyips Don't and the Sydney 2000 Olympic mascot books.

“An entertaining amalgam of first person narrative, 'Jack's Facts', glossaries and delightful nose maps and ink drawings by Janine Dawson … This will challenge beginner readers but certainly won't bore them.” —Magpies Magazine

Endearing Jack Russell dog-detective.

Intriguing, funny whodunit mystery.

First of a hilarious four-book series.

I applied my super-sniffer to the job. The strange dog scent was stronger. That meant the strange dog was in the dog den. Had the dog-nappers struck already? Were they planning a wave of dognappings all over Doggeroo? When Jack and Sarge move to the town of Doggeroo, Jack soon notices that things are going missing. He doesn't mind when an old boot from the yard disappears, but when his squeaker bone, dinner, dinner bowl and blanket vanish, Jack knows that something sinister is afoot. Jack Russell is a dog-detective with a nose for whodunit and, though he is often hampered by the well-meaning but bumbling "Red", he always manages to sniff out his quarry in the end.

About the Authors: Sally Odgers has written many books for children, including the perennial favourite Bunyips Don't. Sally was also the author of the Sydney 2000 Olympic mascot books. Sally and Darrel came up with the idea for the hilarious Jack Russell mysteries on a single afternoon when they were out walking their own Jack Russell terriers.

About the Performer: Since studying drama, Alan has worked extensively in television, theatre and film with appearances in such shows as The Secret Life of Us and Blue Heelers. He also had a lead role in the Australian feature film Four Jacks. As a voice-over artist, Alan is regularly heard on Australian radio and television voicing commercials, documentaries and even reality TV shows. Alan has also narrated Worst Best Friends and Dead Men Don't Walk by Max Dann for Bolinda Audio.
