George S. Clason
Author George S. Clason, born in Missouri in 1874, served in the Army during the Spanish-American War before founding the Clason Map Company, which published the first road atlas of America and Canada. In 1926, he began to write financial pamphlets that used parables set in ancient Babylon—one of history's most magnificent civilizations—to drive home his points about being thrifty and building wealth. The pamphlets were widely distributed by banks and insurance companies. --Recorded Books
