About the Authors: Brock L. Eide, M.D., MA., has a thriving private practice with his wife, Fernette F. Eide, M.D., in addition to a busy lecture schedule. An active member of the International Dyslexia Association and the Learning Disabilities Association of America, he serves as a board member for SENG (Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted) and the American Occupational Therapy Association. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Washington and the University of Washington School of Medicine, he received his M.A. from the University of Chicago and engaged in postdoctoral studies at the University of California–San Francisco, the National Institutes of Health, and the University of Pennsylvania. With his wife, he is the coauthor of The Mislabeled Child. Brock lives with his wife and children in Edmonds, Washington.

Fernette F. Eide, M.D., has a thriving private practice with her husband, Brock L. Eide, M.D., M.A., in addition to a busy lecture schedule. An active member of the International Dyslexia Association and the Learning Disabilities Association of America, she serves as a board member for SENG (Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted) and the American Occupational Therapy Association. A graduate of Harvard and the University of California–San Francisco School of Medicine, she has been on the neurology faculties of the University of Washington, the University of California–San Francisco, and the University of Chicago School of Medicine. She is the coauthor, with her husband, of The Mislabeled Child. Fernette lives with her husband and children in Edmonds, Washington.
