About the Author: Mark Twain (1835–1910) was born Samuel Langhorne Clemens in Missouri in 1835. He grew up in Hannibal, a small township on the Mississippi river. His experiences on the river provided the inspiration for much of his writing. In 1864 he moved to San Francisco to work as a reporter, and began to use the pseudonym Mark Twain in his writing. His first major book success was Innocents Abroad. His other works include Roughing It, The Gilded Age, and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. He died in 1910. About the Narrator: Bronson Pinchot is best known for his lead role in the popular sitcom Perfect Strangers. His film roles include Beverly Hills Cop and Risky Business. He has performed in several Broadway productions, and continues to appear on television in various roles. |
