About the Author: Robert Penn Warren was born in Kentucky in 1905. He founded The Southern Review and was America's first poet laureate. He twice won Pulitzer Prizes for poetry and once for a novel, All the King's Men. His honors include a National Medal for Literature and a Presidential Medal of Freedom. He died in 1989.

About the Performer: Michael Emerson is an accomplished stage and screen performer. His Broadway credits include Hedda Gabler and The Iceman Cometh. He has appeared on many television programs, including The District, Law 6. Order: Special Victims Unit, The X-Files, Without a Trace, and The Practice, for which he won an Emmy Award.
