Audiofile says:

This enjoyable work brings to life the adventures of Merriwether Lewis and William Clark, who led a "corps of discovery" investigating what is now the northwestern United States. It is an odyssey-like tale where the group encounters hardships, unusual lands, and some helpful and not-so-helpful Native Americans. Ken Burns, the producer of the series by the same name recently on PBS, adequately narrates this audiobook, but his voice is not deep and rich like that of some professional actors. The best parts of this audiobook are those in which the actors read from the letters and diaries of the participants. Arkin's portrayal of Lewis is excellent--one imagines that the actual Lewis must have spoken so. --M.L.C., Portland, Maine
