Jessica Fletcher travels from Cabot Cove to Boston to help her eccentric lawyer friend, Malcolm McLoon, to defend a tycoon accused of fratricide. Jessica Fletcher, of Cabot Cove, Maine, is a former substitute English teacher and a famous writer of mysteries.

Donald Bain has assisted Jessica Fletcher with the writing of about a dozen other books recounting her cases. In addition, he co-authored The World's Best Bartender's Guide : Professional Bartenders from the World's Greatest Bars Teach You How to Mix the Perfect Drink, with Joseph Scott (The Berkley Publishing Group, 1998), in which they report the results from their study of the world's best bars.

About the Performer: Beth Porter's career includes journalism, drama production, and acting. She has appeared in films with Kirk Douglas, Woody Allen, Warren Beatty, and Barbra Streisand. She has also appeared in The Men's Room and Inspector Wexford, and several TV series. She is a writer of short stories and plays that have been performed on Britain's Radio 4, and her poetry has been published in U.S. and U.K. anthologies.
