"The best of mystery writers." --New Yorker

"Allingham's work is always of the first rank." --The New York Times

"Matthews does far more than read the tale; he dramatizes the action as well. It's hard to believe one actor creates so many different voices. Each character is perfectly portrayed with just the right intonation and accent. Listeners will delight." --Audiofile
