About the Author: Georges Simenon (1903-1989) was born in Belgium and began his writing career as a journalist. In his lifetime, he wrote over 450 novels and novellas; 75 books featured Maigret. Simenon's work is known for its perceptive insight into human psychology, exploring the motivations of both the criminal and the victims. He was named a Grand Master by the Mystery Writers of America in 1996.
