"Brilliant! [Jarvis] captures so effortlessly the characters of Bertie, Jeeves, and Sir Roderick that fans of the Wodehouse stories will be entranced.... Jarvis brings the language sparkling to life; in fact, Wodehouse never sounded so good." --Talking Business

"Yet again, Martin Jarvis has proved that he's the funniest reader in the business. It is hard to believe that he created this huge cast of comically English characters from a studio in California." --The Daily Mail

"Comic Genius." --The Times (of London)

Since his original creation in 1919, Jeeves has become synonymous with valets and great humor. Wodehouse's witty and charming tale of the incompetent Bertie and the capable Jeeves is a fabulous spoof of the blue-blood Jazz Era. In the first four stories, Jeeves is appointed as Bertie Wooster's valet and quickly sets about protecting his employer from numerous scrapes, including stolen manuscripts, unfortunate engagements, marital scandals, and friends in jail. The second four stories feature the befuddled Bertie exiled in 1920's New York. The peerless Jeeves is at hand, however, to extract his master from countless jams with American Aunts, visiting Brits, poetic chumps, and appealing girls. In all, Bertie shows himself to be not much more than a helpless millionaire, but the formidable Jeeves rises to each challenge with astonishing ingenuity.

P.G. Wodehouse (1881-1975) was born in Guilford, England. He wrote over 90 books, and his work won world-wide acclaim and was translated into many languages. He also was part author and writer of the lyrics of eighteen musical comedies, including Kissing Time. The Times hailed him as "a comic genius in his lifetime ... and an old master of farce." He was made a Knight of the British Empire in the New Year's Honor List in 1975, a short time before he died.

Martin Jarvis, a highly-recognized voice talent, was named Reader of the Year in 1996 by the British Spoken Word Publishing Association. He is a professional film, stage, and radio actor, and his numerous readings for the BBC have earned him a wide and enthusiastic following. He recently appeared in the film, Titanic, and was the voice on The Audio Partners' publication of A Night to Remember, Ovid's Art of Love, Graham Greene's The Third Man, and Charles Dickens' Great Expectations.
