Publisher, Audio Partners (September 2001)

"Tom Sawyer never had it so good! Fraley is no mere mortal when it comes to reading a book... And his extraordinarily exuberant Tom drives the story along with youthful vim and enthusiasm. Fraley puts so much life into every sentence? show me a finer recording, and I reckon I'll eat it, by Jimminy!" --Kliatt

"The humor and high-spirited adventure of Mark Twain's classic are here in full in this exuberant performance. Fraley? tells the story in a lively country twang and energetically acts out all the parts, offering a veritable one-man show. Especially entertaining are the scenes in which Tom wheedles his way out of trouble with his aunt, tries to charm Becky Thatcher, or gets into a heated argument with a schoolmate - Fraley effortlessly switches back and forth between voices, throwing himself into each part with gusto. This is that rare audiobook that can truly be enjoyed by all ages." --Billboard

"For my money, there's none better than Patrick Fraley, [who] really lets loose... His performance is lively, fun, and just wacky enough to stand way ahead of all the other [recordings of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer]." --Sandy Bauers, Knight-Ridder Newspapers

"We all know the story of Tom Sawyer, the scrappy kid who grew up on the banks of the Mississippi. But voice-over actor Patrick Fraley brings the lively dialogue to life in an amazing way? You'd swear there was a cast of thousands. It's almost like watching a play. Everyone in the family will enjoy this one." --The Arizona Republic

Revel in a rambunctious tale of childhood beloved by generations. This definitive performance, complete and unabridged, by one of America's virtuoso character voice actors is a fitting tribute to Twain's storytelling genius.

This recording of Tom Sawyer is especially notable for the highly acclaimed virtuoso performance of narrator/actor Patrick Fraley. Crafting 36 distinct voices to represent the wide range of Twain's delightful characters, Fraley brings the story to vivid life.

While romping through his adventures, Tom shows how morally complicated real life can be. Exploring the river and nearby caves, spending the night on Jackson's Island, whitewashing fences - many of his adventures as told in this beloved classic are treasured memories for millions who have read or heard it. Twain's children's story is relevant for everyone!
