After revolutionizing radio drama with his first-person singular narration in audio storytelling on his Mercury Theatre broadcasts, Orson Welles fills in as Ebenezer Scrooge (substituting for the ailing Lionel Barrymore) in The Campbell Playhouse annual presentation of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol.

In Campbell Soup's (CBS) fourth annual presentation of Dickens' legendary tale, the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future visit the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge and help him discover the true spirit of the Christmas season.

Bonus included in this old time radio program is Orson Welles' narration of The Christmas Story of Jesus' Birth from Luke 2:1-14.
